Andrew Fisher has decided it is time for him to retire. We will miss his humour, his banter and his funny Scottish words, but we wish him all the very best for the future and a happy, healthy retirement.

If you visited us on Wednesday you may have met our newest member of staff, Melissa. This was her first show and she was delighted to be able to meet many of the people she speaks to every day.

We would also like to pass on our congratulations to the well deserving Route One Award winners – it is great to see all of their hard work being recognised.

All asset finance agreements are subject to credit, but there are plenty of structures that we can use to make that next purchase a reality rather than a dream.

Lower payments at the start of the agreement. – Works well if you have a finance payment finishing soon or if you’ve found a vehicle before the start of the season – keeping cashflow and affordability whole.

Seasonal payments. – When you are busy, payments are high, when you are not, payments are lower. All pre-written into your agreement.

Balloon payment. – Keep your payments lower by paying interest only on a capital lump sum that falls due at the end of the agreement.

Vat Deferment. – Let the funder lend you the money for the Vat until you have reclaimed it from HMRC.

Lump sum payments. – Build specific lump sums in to your payment schedule during your busier periods, to keep the other payments lower.

Sale and HP Back / Sale and lease back. – Unlock equity in your coach fleet to get cash in to the business during winter, or following a large repair bill, or even just to get deposits ready for a fleet replacement programme.

These structures are available subject to credit, and subject to asset security.

We would like to thank everyone who visited us at Eurobus Expo 2014. It was lovely to see so many people; catching up with old friends and making new ones.  What made the show particularly special for us was that our MD Ronnie Allan flying in from Spain to join us on the stand.    I think our customers felt the same!

We would also like to thank our good friends Prentice Coaches Limited for inviting us to join them at the Route One Awards dinner,  it was a great night.

Did your bank say NO!

Posted by on Aug 6, 2014 in News | 0 comments

According to the Bank of England in a recent article, credit remains tight for small businesses (SMEs) eventhough there has been an uptick in overall business lending. This is despite numerous schemes and near constant political pressure to improve access to finance for businesses. There is concern among politicians that lending numbers show few signs of improvement.

In our business we hear of many horror stories. Recently, one of our customers who has been with his current bank for circa 15 years was getting so much hassle from his bank manager about his overdraft that he decided to do something about it. It must also be stated that at no point had he exceeded his overdraft facility. With the assistance of a good finance broker, (modesty forbids the mention of any names) funds were raised on his existing fleet. Along with a small injection of personal cash by the operator, the overdraft was cleared!

Lo and behold, about a month later he got a new bank manager (yes, you have guessed it) and our customer got a call asking why he no longer had an overdraft with the bank and would he like a new one! The reply cannot be printed!

Earlier this year, Britain’s high street banks were ordered to make major changes to the way that they treat small and medium sized businesses after the competition watchdog said that they had serious concerns. We can see little evidence of any change. It was also questioned in one article why banks offering loans to businesses also insisted that they move their business current accounts to them. This is called ‘belt and braces’. Don’t even mention the plethora of other securities held in support of overdrafts.

We must all remember that SMEs are a vital driver of growth in the UK. They need access to services and loans which meet their needs.

The message is simple – there are many alternatives to borrowing from your bank, and please rest assured – when dealing through Stoke Park Finance Limited, you won’t need to supply ongoing monthly management figures or indeed suffer an annual review!

Stoke Park Finance Limited is your friendly finance broker, and a very real alternative for your finance requirements.

Tax Bill Pending?

Posted by on Jan 16, 2014 in News | 0 comments

For many, the deadline for payment of tax is 31st January.  In the coach industry, this can be a difficult time of year to find the extra cash.  But help is at hand!

Did you know that it is possible to unlock equity in your coach fleet to raise cash?  Many funders offer Sale and Lease Back facilities where title remains with the funder even once all of the payments in the Primary Period have been made. Secondary rentals may also be payable on an ongoing annual basis until the asset is sold.  At Stoke Park, we have lenders who offer Sale and Hire Purchase back agreements where at the end of the term, you get full title to your coach.  This is a straight forward, hassle free way of keeping cashflow on track, and cash can be in your bank within a matter of days.

At Stoke Park Finance Limited we have a strong mix of funders who are open for business and are keen to lend.  If you could benefit from a cash injection this month, please give us a call on 0141 639 1410 for a no obligation chat.
